Kids love to bake and make delicious treats from the kitchen. Giving them opportunities to make their own chocolate recipes or other tasty treats will delight them. Here are just a few ideas on little chocolate decadent dreams that your children can make without much help.
Hot Fudge Sundae
This is one of the easiest chocolate recipes around for your child to make and then enjoy afterwards. All you need is a pint of ice cream (chocolate or vanilla), hot fudge, whipped cream and any tiny, tasty toppings your child would like to put on top (such as cherries, sprinkles, nuts, etc.).
Store bought hot fudge will work just fine for this project as it is easier for your child to prepare. Have your child get a bowl and scoop out 3 or 4 scoops of ice cream into the bowl. Then have them heat up the hot fudge in a microwave following the instructions on the bottle or jar and pour over the ice cream.
Next, they will either scoop or spray the whipped cream on top of the hot fudge (depending on the type of bottle they got). Have them finish off with their favorite decorative toppings. Eat and Love it!
Chocolate M&M Crispy Bars
Chocolate recipes filled with gooey marshmallow and lots of chocolate is every child’s dream to make and eat. Chocolate M&M Crispy bars are so easy to make and so good to eat! They can be whipped up in as little as 10 minutes and can be eaten once cooled. What you need is:
– 1/4 cup of butter
– 1 (10 oz., approx. 40) pkg. of regular marshmallows or 3 cups of miniature marshmallows
– 6 cups of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies
– 1 cup M&Ms (can be substituted with nestle chocolate chips)
In a microwave safe bowl, heat up butter and marshmallows for 2 minutes in microwave. Stir when melted. Microwave again for an additional minute. Stir in Rice Krispies and M&Ms and press into a pan that you have buttered or sprayed with a non-stick spray or have lined with wax paper. Allow to cool.
Spending a day with children making different types of chocolate recipes can be a very rewarding experience for both you and your kids. It teaches that family time is both fun and important. On the next rainy day, have your child put on their Betty Crocker hat and whip up some fun in the kitchen.
